Library Cards
Your free library card is your access to the many resources of the West Florida Regional Library, and is good at all locations. Always bring your card and present it each time you wish to borrow materials.
Resident
Residents of Escambia or Santa Rosa Counties may apply for a card by presenting personal identification verifying current local address. Proof of address may be a Florida driver's license, Florida ID card, current utility bill or rent receipt, tax bill or voter registration card. First-time borrowers are limited to two items for check-out.
Nonresidents
Nonresidents may apply for the nonresident library card for which a nonrefundable annual $50 fee is charged. Those nonresidents or temporary residents who show that they own property and pay ad valorem taxes in Escambia or Santa Rosa County or are Santa Rosa Island leaseholders are treated as residents and receive free cards*. Active duty military are also considered residents.
Renewal
Resident library cards are renewed free when the card is presented at the library. Replacement of a lost card is $3.
Children
Children through age 12 may apply for library cards when they are accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian who furnishes the appropriate identification and accepts responsibility for any borrowed materials. Children may then select and check out books themselves, whether or not they are accompanied. Those over age 12 may apply for a card unaccompanied, provided they furnish the appropriate identification. Video and CD Rom borrowers must be at least 18 years old.
