Computer Use Policy
Internet and word-processing computers
are available for use during regular
library hours up to fifteen minutes before
closing time. Computers may be reserved
but for current and next day only. Call 850-436-5088 for
information or to reserve a computer.
Children through age 12 may use the
library's computers, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Children 13 to 17 will need an Internet Permission Card. A parent or guardian can sign the permission form at the Computer Lab.
Registration for
August classes starts July 30.
Phone-in registration begins at 8:00 am;
walk-in registration starts when the
library opens at 9:00 am.
Adult Computer Classes
(Free 2 hour classes, one time only,
pre-registration is required.)
Space is limited. Registration will be handled on a first come-first served basis. If you register for a class and cannot attend, please call as soon as possible. Classes begin promptly at their designated times.
Please check in at the Computer Lab Desk
at least 10 minutes before workshop
begins. Any space left available by
starting time will be given away. Class and lab hours are subject to change or cancellation. All classes will be held at the West Florida Regional Library Computer Lab, located on the second floor of the Pensacola Public Library, 200 West Gregory Street in downtown Pensacola. Free Internet Access
is offered to adults and children at all library locations. Children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and those ages 13 through 17 need
an internet permission card signed by a
parent. Reservations are accepted for current or next-day use. Instruction is offered at scheduled times by reservation at all locations.
Patrons printing in excess of 15 pages,
without making a donation, can be asked
to forfeit their computer time.
Computer Lab Policies
- Please work without disturbing others.
- The West Florida Regional Library expects computer resources to be used in an ethical and responsible manner.
- Individuals must not damage or disable equipment.
- Individuals must comply with the Federal Copyright Law.
- The computing and network resources of the West Florida Regional Library must not be used for an illegal purpose or to harass another person.
- Any person who compromises network security or who uses The West Florida Regional Library Internet connection for unintended purposes will be asked to leave the lab.
- All users must sign in with a Library Computer Technician.
- Users must bring their own formatted diskette if they intend to save any work.
- The West Florida Regional Library reserves the right to update and/or change computer lab policies and procedures at any time.
- The Library reserves the right to monitor all network use.
- Children under 13 who wish to use the library must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- No food or drink allowed.
